32nd AGM of BCS held

The 32nd Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Computer Samiti (BCS) has been held with the determination to work together with the government to build a smart Bangladesh and to implement MRP principles, to have an informative database of BCS members, and to make extensive use of 4IR technology.

According to the press release sent by the organization on Thursday, on December 13, the Annual General Meeting held at the BGB Banquet Hall in the capital. Apart from presenting the activities and financial statements of 2023, the action plan for the next year has also been adopted.

BCS President Engineer Subrata Sarkar presided over the meeting while the Vice President Md. Rashed Ali Bhuiyan, Secretary General Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan, Treasurer Nazrul Islam Helali, Directors Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Muhammad Monirul Islam and Mosharraf Hossain Sumon and General Members of the organization were present. At the beginning of the meeting, prayers were offered for the souls of 3 BCS members who died this year.

BCS President presented the minutes of the 31st Annual General Meeting as per the agenda. Secretary General Kamruzzaman Bhuiyan presented the statement of activities for 2023 and Treasurer Nazrul Islam Helali presented the audited financial report for the financial year 2022-23 and the budget for the financial year 2023-2024. The members present at the meeting shared their views on the activities of 2023, the audited financial report and the budget of the association for the next financial year. In the light of detailed discussions and opinions in the meeting, the agendas of the Annual General Meeting were approved.

BCS President Engineer Subrata Sarkar said that, Bangladesh Computer Samiti is the largest organization of technology traders nationwide. This year we have opened two new branches. At present, BCS is working tirelessly to provide information technology services in the country with 11 branches and more than three and a half thousand members. Technology-friendly government and ICT-savvy leadership have given Bangladesh a unique status. BCS is one of the claimants of this achievement.

Referring to the future plan, BCS General Secretary Kamruzzaman Bhuia said, we have taken the initiative to create a strong database with various information including members' information, data, import, export. We also have plans to build a member-friendly building of BCS. We hope to open another branch office in Dhaka North to provide uninterrupted service to the capital. We will also implement necessary initiatives including formation of market monitoring cell for IT business development and expansion.

It may be mentioned that, a special general meeting (EGM) of BCS was held before the annual general meeting. The meeting was concluded by greeting the English New Year 2024.
